Trauma has significant physical, emotional, and psychological effects worldwide, and family involvement is vital for healing and resilience. Family interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy can aid in trauma recovery have shown effectiveness in reducing trauma symptoms and enhancing family functioning. However, family dynamics can contribute to stress and trauma, making it crucial to understand the relationship between family processes, trauma exposure, and recovery outcomes. A literature review using the Scopus database identified several themes, including the impact of trauma on families and children, family interventions for trauma recovery, trauma's influence on family dynamics, specific populations affected by trauma. It is important to recognize the diverse needs and strengths of each family in promoting healing and resilience.
